Senate hosts 28th annual Memorial Day Ceremony

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Rick Outman joined his Senate colleagues in welcoming veterans, Blue Star Mothers and Gold Star families from across the state for the Senate’s 28th Annual Memorial Day Service.

Outman was part of the opening ceremony and introduced members of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, along with members of the Michigan House of Representatives and Senate staff who served in the armed forces.

“It is always a somber, yet joyful experience to welcome some of our nation’s finest heroes to this ceremony, and I was honored to be a part of the service,” said Outman, R-Six Lakes. “As we go into the weekend, I ask that people pause and remember why we celebrate this day and honor those who gave everything to allow us to enjoy the freedoms that we have.”
